HUAORANI FACTS
Originally from the Amazonian Region of Ecuador, the Waorani (Huaorani) are the last hunter-gatherers ethnic group.
For centuries, Waorani warriors, called Aucas a Quichua word meaning "savages," by outsiders are perhaps equaled only by their Shuar neighbors to the south for their reputation as a fierce independent group, hostile to outside intrusions (who sought to exploit the Amazon Rainforest and conquer its inhabitants) and willing to resort to violence to defend their ancestral lands.

INTANGIBLE ZONE
TAGAERI - TAROMENANE ZITT
The Tagaeri Taromenane People are two indigenous groups belonging to the Waorani first nation living in voluntary isolation.
One of Amazhope's goals is to raise awareness about the importance of protecting the Huaorani Intangible Zone. This vital region ensures the survival of uncontacted indigenous peoples, preserving their culture and environment. By safeguarding this area, Amazhope promotes respect for their unique way of life and highlights the need to protect fragile ecosystems for future generations.
